Barcelona crash Roman Stars

Barcelona has continued their five-week successful Castle League run with a hard-fought 6-0 win over the Amy Joe Roman Stars in Soshanguve, Giant stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Amy Joe roman stars had their chances, particularly in a busy first half, but were again punished for their inability to find the crucial finish at Giant Stadium.

It was a rather an eventful first 45 minutes, with both sides managing to take numerous shots on target.

Boiti Masindi opened the scoring after 15 minutes following good approach play from Keketso Mothape, before Rodriguez doubled the lead in the 25th after reacting quickest to a bouncing ball in the box to fire a left-foot shot past the keeper.

Tebogo Kabeni’s pace up front provided AmyJoe Roman Stars best chances on the counter- attack, but Barcelona keeper Michael Machozo remained largely untested.

Striker, Obasi Chukunywa added a 3th goal which gave the Blues a great led to the half time.

The Reds continued to push Swansea’s back four deeper and deeper and at this point, were the only team that looked like scoring another goal.

Second half goals for Bernard Makgetlwa and Isaac Masidi plus a late powerful header from Mathabathe Matlaupe impressive long cross lead Barcelona to a confortable win.
Barcelona Coach Simon Maela was particularly happy with his team’s 5th consecutive win and their attacking effort until the final whistle.
"The second half was a bit stop-start, and I thought the Phoenix got on top of us a little but we got back into it. The boys worked really hard and we got the three points in the end," he said.
Disappointed to loose with spy of goals, Amy Joe Roman Stars coach Des Buckingham thought his team leaked concentration.
"We created just as many chances as they did, and we're just disappointed to concede many goals in the way we did."
The win for Barcelona sees them moving to the top of the castle league with one point crack.
