What is leaking with today’s kids, is it the parents or the new lifestyle of today that contains ignorance of cultures with the introduction of media. Indeed media has changed the lifestyle of nowadays kids as they don’t even know where they come from, their cultural background. Kids of today when growing up they enjoy to play all day, away from home then come back to sleep and eat. If all kids can grow up like this there would grow up strong and there wouldn’t be teenage issues like teenage pregnancy and young kids getting involved with drugs.

With the kids of today are being raised, they grow faster and forget their place by getting engage in adult activities. If we can try to raise our kids like the way our old people were raised they can grow up strong and know the reality of the world with it’s with its pros and cons. There are many African great people who were raised in a very cultural way and became successful. This people include the late South African former president Nelson Mandela who was raised in a small cultural rural area.

With the introduction of media in Africa kids spend lot of their time on their cellphones chatting in social media and watching television which is an advantage to their educational knowledge but on the other hand it is a disadvantage to their cultural background. Today kids are influenced by the media; they learn life lessons that the media massages produces either than the life lessons from their parents. It is very difficult as a parent to teach a child to grow in a right way due to the outside interference but today’s lifestyle.

There is culture in africa, we just have to rase our kids in way that will make them not to forget their culture so that they can grow up strong.
